Iluka is a fast-developing beachside suburb, situated approximately 26km north of Perth. Iluka is generally new and upper-middle class locale with many basic homes further from the ocean but many larger and more expensive homes closer to the sea.
The suburb has a large sporting facility, Beaumaris Sports Association which is home to Heathridge Soccer Club, Joondalup District Cricket Club, Joondalup Lakers Hockey Club and Joondalup Brothers Rugby Union Football Club as well as outdoor bowling green. It has many function rooms as well as a licensed bar.
Iluka also offers Beaumaris Beach – a play area for children complete with lunch shelters, barbeques and toilets.
The very picturesque Sir James McCusker park forms the centrepiece of the suburb plus there are several smaller parks as well.
The coastal path runs the whole length of the suburb, great for walking or cycling. There are plenty of schools in adjacent suburbs and shopping facilities at Currambine, with the large shopping centre at Joondalup only 4km away.
